If users are looking for a particular recipe then the smart search is the best option.

Cooks section at 123recipes.com brings various social features which allow home cooks to find, connect and share with other cooks from across the globe. Finding cooks is as easy as finding them by their interests and/or region, besides finding from the recipe, photo or review they have posted.

The new look also brings a considerable focus on Healthy Eating, a main section featuring healthy recipes and information around the same. Recipes that are healthy display an icon that denotes this factor. This makes an easy choice for all those who want to try a healthy dinner or even those who follows a continuous healthy diet.

Though some of these changes were visible few months before the official launch, those were in beta to ensure it is accepted well by the existing users of 123Recipes.com. The new look also eliminated few old-web features such as forums and menu creation abilities that were present in the website.

Diet-to-Go Asks: Isn’t it TIME You Listened to the Facts About Weight Loss?

TIME Magazine Cover

Lorton, VA (PRWEB) August 29, 2009

Officials at Diet-to-Go, a national leader in deliciously healthy, ready to heat and eat meals, are applauding the recent TIME magazine cover story that reveals exercise won't help you lose weight - healthy weight loss is all about portion-controlled, properly balanced meals.

While the findings revealed in the August 17, 2009 TIME feature "The Myth About Exercise" aren't news to the weight loss experts at Diet-to-Go, they are making many overweight Americans sit up and take notice. And that's a good thing.

"This is validation for what we've been preaching for the past 19 years," notes Diet-to-Go founder and CEO Hilton Davis. "Exercise is important - but that alone won't help you lose weight. For weight loss, you need to adjust how and what you eat along with an exercise regimen to have a well balanced approach."

Davis says his company's three meal plans - Traditional Low Fat, Vegetarian Low-Fat and Low-Carb - meet the guidelines of major health organizations like the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.

"Our hope is that the millions of men and women who need to lose pounds for health reasons take this TIME magazine feature to heart and then take action to get their weight under control," Davis says.

The TIME feature noted that despite the fact millions of Americans have gym memberships, obesity continues to rise. And with obesity comes an increased risk of major health issues such as diabetes and heart disease.

"In general, for weight loss, exercise is pretty useless," says Eric Ravussin, chair in diabetes and metabolism at Louisiana State University and a prominent exercise researcher, who is quoted in the TIME feature.

According to the TIME feature, "The basic problem is that while it's true that exercise burns calories and that you must burn calories to lose weight, exercise has another effect: it can stimulate hunger. That causes us to eat more, which in turn can negate the weight-loss benefits we just accrued. Exercise, in other words, isn't necessarily helping us lose weight. It may even be making it harder…

"In short, it's what you eat, not how hard you try to work it off, that matters more in losing weight. You should exercise to improve your health, but be warned: fiery spurts of vigorous exercise could lead to weight gain."

To read the entire TIME magazine feature, visit the TIME web site.

Michelle Agin, Diet-to-Go's director of marketing, is excited that a major news outlet has exposed the myth of exercise and drawn attention back to the importance of a healthy diet.

"Sadly, people have heard it 100 times and yet they still choose to ignore sound advice." Agin notes. "Diet-to-Go has helped tens of thousands of people lose weight effectively by providing great-tasting, balanced meals that take the guesswork out of dieting. It is our hope that we can help alter the course of this obesity epidemic that is hitting our country."
